The Beef Emmy winner and Oscar nominee for Minari will star in a series titled Pagans from creator Joshua Zetumer (FX’s Say Nothing). Yeun will also be an executive producer.
Netflix won a multi-outlet bidding war for Pagans last year with a straight-to-series order. The supernatural drama began as a spec script from Zetumer, whose writing credits also include feature films Patriots Day and the 2014 RoboCop.

The series description reads, “Pagans follows Gus (Yeun), who becomes the sole caretaker of his two children after the tragic loss of his wife. While his son is typical, his daughter, Alice, is anything but. What starts as a strained father-daughter relationship soon evolves into something far more sinister. Equal parts emotional, horrifying and humorous, Pagans is a show that unearths all our darkest thoughts about family.”
Zetumer, an Emmy and Writers Guild Award nominee for Say Nothing, will serve as showrunner. He executive produces with Drew Goddard and Sarah Esberg of Goddard Textiles, Jonathan van Tulleken, Erica Kay, and Yeun and Christina Oh of Celadon Pictures.
Yeun will next be seen in Netflix’s feature film Animals opposite Ben Affleck (who also directed), Kerry Washington and Gillian Anderson. He also starred opposite Affleck and Matt Damon in The Rip earlier this year. He voices the title character in Prime Video’s animated series Invincible; other credits include The Walking Dead, Nope and Mickey 17. Yeun is repped by CAA and Hansen Jacobson.
