Getty A documentary feature about Jessica Simpson has proved to be irresistible to Netflix, who’ve snapped up the project, Variety has learned.
Directed by “Robbie Williams” helmer Joe Pearlman, the feature doc will give fans a deeper look into Simpson’s life and career.
The singer and entrepreneur first came to public attention in the same era as Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Mandy Moore. She has since sold more than 20 million records, and fronted one of the earliest celebrity reality series with MTV’s “Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica,” which chronicled her marriage (and its discontents) to 98 Degrees singer Nick Lachey, and ran for three seasons from 2003 through 2005. She then launched a billion-dollar fashion brand and been a New York Times bestselling author with her 2020 memoir “Open Book.”
