Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh will give remarks Wednesday afternoon after the nation’s central bank decided to hold interest rates steady for the fifth time amid uncertainty around energy prices as a result of the Iran war.
The Federal Open Market Committee maintained its baseline interest rate at a range of 3.5 percent to 3.75 percent. It marks the second hold on rates since Warsh succeeded former Chair Jerome Powell at the bank, and he has moved away from issuing forward guidance since taking over.
The press conference is scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m. EDT.
