The Senate Banking Committee will hear testimony from experts on affordability Tuesday morning as cost-of-living concerns in the U.S. grow ahead of the midterm elections.

Rising costs — including gas price spikes amid the war in Iran — and inflation have voters on edge. The annual inflation rate sits at 4.2 percent, its highest point in three years, according to the latest data from the Labor Department.

The hearing is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. EDT.
