Actor Tim Curry attends the 59th Annual Tony Awards at Radio City Music Hall June 5, 2005 in New York City. Evan Agostini/Getty Images Tim Curry‘s cause of death has been revealed to be coronary artery disease, according to documents from the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health reviewed by People.
The British actor died on Aug. 25 at the age of 80. The Rocky Horror Picture Show and It star reportedly had a history of kidney cancer and stroke. These conditions did not create an underlying cause that directly led to his death, though they were contributing factors. Curry did not undergo surgery to treat his cancer or stroke, which occurred in 2012.
Last year, Curry detailed his continued struggles with his health as a result of the stroke. “I still can’t walk, which is why I’m in this silly chair, and that’s very limiting,” he said at an anniversary screening of Rocky Horror. “So I won’t be singing and I won’t be dancing very soon. I still have real problems with my left leg.”
