Miley Cyrus is kicking off a new album era with a bang, as the pop star announced her upcoming 10th album Bass Persuades on Tuesday, along with a long-awaited return to the stage with a pair of shows at the Hollywood Bowl slated for next month.

Bass Persuades, Cyrus’ first album since last year’s Something Beautiful, is set to release on Sept. 18. She’ll play the Bowl on Oct. 16 and 18, marking a rare set of concerts for the superstar, who hasn’t played held a concert tour since 2022.

“My tenth studio album, BASS PERSUADES, is yours September 18th,” Cyrus, who appears to be referring to herself mononymously as Miley and dropping her last name in a re-brand for this era, wrote on Instagram on Tuesday.

“Music takes hold of us,” her post continued. “We feel it, sing it, sometimes dance to it, let it out and carry on. It is powerful, vulnerable, sweet and strong. Heart full, heartache, every part of life in between. That’s what the title means to me. Thank you for being a part of making my wildest dreams come true. I sincerely hope you love this album. Of the Hollywood Bowl shows, Cyrus shared a separate post noting that “it’s been a while,” since she’s played a full-fledged concert.

“The Hollywood Bowl is my favorite place to experience music and see my favorite artists,” she added. “I’ve sat in those seats many times, but I’ve never taken the stage. LA is my heart and I’m bringing it home. See you there.” Ticket pre-sales will start on Sept. 8 for American Express cardholders, while a general on-sale will take place on Sept. 10. Spotify will also be setting aside tickets for the shows for Cyrus’s listeners on the streaming service through its recently rolled out Spotify Reserved feature, the highest-profile shows Spotify has gotten to date since announcing Reserved earlier this year.

Bass Persuades comes at a time of immense change for Cyrus. It’ll be her first album since she left her longtime home at Sony Music for Warner Music Group’s Atlantic Records. The record will also come just weeks after her godmother Dolly Parton, who was famously close with Cyrus, died last week at age 80 after a battle with cancer.

Bass Persuades is just the latest in an already-busy year for Cyrus, who also hosted a 20th anniversary special for Hannah Montana earlier this year.
