Getty Images The blockbuster success of “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” and “The Odyssey” fueled a record-breaking quarter for AMC Theatres. Total revenue for the three-month period ended Sept. 30 hit $1.71 billion, up 31.6% from $1.30 billion a year earlier.
That marked the biggest sales haul ever posted by the world’s largest cinema chain, eclipsing the previous all-time high of $1.60 billion established in the second quarter of 2026, led by “Project Hail Mary and “Michael.” Prior to this year’s rebound, AMC’s quarterly revenue high-water mark was pro-COVID, set in the second quarter of 2019, when “Avengers: Endgame” was released and shattered any and all box office expectations.
