The U.S. military is weighing renewed strikes against Iran as early as this weekend, as officials warn Tehran could attempt to rebuild its nuclear capabilities.

Israel, according to reports, is in on the plan to launch “one of the harshest bombing campaigns to date.” The nation is also facing pressure over the recent U.S.-Hamas disarmament deal, though questions remain.

Meanwhile, President Trump is escalating criticism on Senate Republicans over the stalled confirmation of acting Attorney General Todd Blanche. On Saturday, the president called out Sens. John Cornyn (R-Texas) and Thom Tillis (R-N.C.) for holding up the vote and threatened to renew his push for the $1.776 billion “anti-weaponization” fund — which both senators oppose.

On the campaign front, Republicans are grappling with fallout from abuse allegations against Rep. Max Miller (R-Ohio), adding another closely watched storyline ahead of the midterms.

The president is in Bedminster, N.J. for the weekend.
