Doug Ellin and Debi Mazar Allen Berezovsky/Getty Images; Slaven Vlasic/Getty Images Entourage creator Doug Ellin is speaking out against comments Debi Mazar made about working on the show, specifically claims that after she gave birth to her second child, “they didn’t like that I got fat.”
Responding to a Hollywood Reporter X post reporting on Mazar’s remarks given to The Times U.K., Ellin wrote, “My thoughts are this is disgusting. Never, ever did myself or anyone that matters care or discuss Debi Mazar’s body. I would one million percent embrace any woman who got pregnant.”
The Goodfellas actress recently told the Times that she initially enjoyed working on Entourage, but that things took a “toxic” turn. She cited season three as “a testosterone-fueled environment,” and alleged that things shifted after she got pregnant with her second child. (Season three of Entourage ran from 2006-07; Mazar welcomed her second daughter in March 2006.)

“And I’d had my second baby and they didn’t like that I got fat, even though I got skinny again. It was complicated because I’m outspoken and never held back my discontent,” Mazar said. “But I always was professional and I’m grateful I was on it. It was a lot of fun, until it wasn’t.”
The writer-director added that the “only bodies on the show I ever commented on were Adrian’s ( I wanted him more muscular) and @jerryferrara who I wanted fatter.” However, he said he even regrets those comments due to the impact they had on Ferry Ferrara.
“I will forever feel bad about that because I didn’t realize the health implications at the time and now couldnt be happier for Jerry’s transformation,” he added.
Mazar starred in Entourage during its full run from 2004 to 2011, where she portrayed Shauna Roberts, Vincent Chase’s (Adrian Grenier) publicist.
