Zendaya’s method dressing streak for The Drama press tour has taken another chic turn.

The Emmy Award-winning actress stepped out at the A24 film’s Rome premiere in a “borrowed” dress by Giorgio Armani Privé that was made for Cate Blanchett and most recently worn by the Oscar winner in another Italian city at the Venice Film Festival opening night ceremony in August 2025.

But doubling down on the whole “borrowed” trend, Blanchett had also worn it before. A longtime muse of Giorgio Armani, Blanchett previously wore the Armani Privé look at the SAG Awards in 2022. She’s long been known to re-wear looks from her personal archive as a way to promote sustainability, eco-conscious moves made arm-in-arm with longtime stylist Elizabeth Stewart.

As for the gown, the custom Giorgio Armani Privé black silk architectural column gown features a plunging neckline of onyx stones. As for the “borrowed” part, Zendaya stars opposite Robert Pattinson in The Drama, a film about a happily engaged couple whose relationship is put to the test when an unexpected revelation by the bride-to-be sends their wedding week off the rails.

As a play on the plot — and perhaps as a cheeky wink to news that she recently married longtime love Tom Holland — Zendaya and her stylist Law Roach have curated a series of looks that align with the wedding tradition of “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.” It’s a well-known mix that, per Victorian-era codes, is meant to ward off evil spirits and deliver good luck to the couple.

Zendaya wore “something new” to the Paris premiere with a custom Louis Vuitton dress with a back cut-out and oversized black bow that doubled as a train. Her “something old” came courtesy of a Vivienne Westwood dress worn to the L.A. premiere after originally wearing it to her first Academy Awards in 2015. She also stepped out in “something blue” with a sheer dress by McQueen, which she wore during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!

Roach recently spoke with The Hollywood Reporter about their method dressing streak and why it makes sense for her films like Dune, Challengers and more.
