The fan-favorite Yellowstone couple starring in their own spinoff are continuing on the Dutton legacy in what Paramount is describing as “a new Yellowstone series” with Dutton Ranch. On Monday, Paramount+ dropped a first look and announced a two-episode premiere date of May 14.
Dutton Ranch will stream on Paramount+ and air on the Paramount Network beginning May 15, at 8 p.m. with two episodes, and then weekly throughout the nine-episode first season. The series is created by executive producer and showrunner Chad Feehan, based on the characters created by executive producers Sheridan and John Linson.

The explosive first teaser (below) makes it clear that the peaceful ending the couple earned when settling into their new Dillon, Montana, ranch at the end of Yellowstone was short-lived. The one-minute footage is filled with violence and shows Beth and Rip once again fighting to defend the life they have built.
“A legacy is a beautiful thing,” says Beth to a new character named Beulah Jackson, played by Annette Bening, “but only if it survives.”
When the indomitable Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler return, this time they are taking on Texas. The logline reads: “As Beth and Rip fight to build a future together — far from the ghosts of Yellowstone — they collide with brutal new realities and a ruthless rival ranch that will stop at nothing to protect its empire. In South Texas, blood runs deeper, forgiveness is fleeting, and the cost of survival might just be your soul.”
Along with Reilly and Hauser, Finn Little returns as their son, Carter. The cast is rounded out by Juan Pablo Raba, Jai Courtney, J.R. Villarreal, Marc Menchaca, Natalie Alyn Lind, Ed Harris and Bening.
Dutton Ranch will be the second Yellowstone spinoff to release following Marshals, which follows Beth’s brother Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes) and is currently airing weekly Sunday nights on CBS, and has already been renewed for a second season. Marshals showrunner Spencer Hudnut recently told The Hollywood Reporter that the summer before flagship series Yellowstone signed off with its series finale in December 2024, David Glasser at 101 Studios and Keith Cox at Paramount began exploring how they could continue on Taylor Sheridan‘s mega-hit Yellowstone franchise.
“David did start the conversation by asking, ‘Would you rather watch a spinoff about Kayce Dutton or Beth Dutton?’ And, because he’s David Glasser, he, of course, will have both shows on the air,” said Hudnut.

Hauser as Rip with Reilly as Beth in Dutton Ranch. Emerson Miller/Paramount+ Reilly and Hauser, who were in active development to continue on the Yellowstone-verse for some time before the show was announced, had both expressed their interest in following Sheridan, who writes all episodes of Yellowstone, wherever his pen takes them. Reilly said, “I trust him with wherever he takes her; whether we’re leaving her where we’ve left her, or we’re going to find her somewhere else, I trust him.” After the finale, executive producer and director Christina Voros explained how Sheridan left the door “wide open” to continue on with Beth and Rip.
Hauser also recently spoke to THR about Beth and Rip leading their own series, without their Yellowstone co-stars: “Kelly and I are focused on [Rip and Beth’s] relationship and our love together, and what we’re going to get [them] into.” Both Hudnut and Voros, the latter who also directed the recently released The Madison, both told THR they would love to see a Beth and Rip crossover with Kayce, if the production stars align on Dutton Ranch and Marshals. “There’s so much potential in having all of these spinoffs in the universe, you would love to see what could come of that,” said Voros.
Dutton Ranch is produced by Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios. Dutton Ranch is also executive produced by Glasser, Art Linson, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Voros, Michael Friedman, Hauser, Reilly and Keith Cox. Voros directed multiple episodes, including the premiere and finale. Greg Yaitanes, Jessica Lowrey, and Phil Abraham are directors.
