The White House and President Trump’s campaign team have removed music from Taylor Swift from their online videos.
A TikTok clip of Trump and first lady Melania Trump posted six days ago with Swift’s song “August” is now silent. The caption still reads, “mood because it’s August and Donald Trump is your president.”
Another video posted by Team Trump in November 2025 that previously featured audio from Swift’s song “Father Figure” no longer includes music from Swift, perhaps the nation’s most popular recording artist.
That clip shows the president on the stairs of the White House, as well as footage of him pumping his fist in the air with blood running down his face following the assassination attempt on Trump while campaigning in Pennsylvania in 2024.
Swift has not publicly commented on the Trump administration’s use of her songs, unlike other artists such as Ariana Grande and Katy Perry, who have openly rejected ties to the White House after their music was used for content.
However, Swift opposed Trump during the 2024 election and endorsed former Vice President Kamala Harris.
“I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris … in the 2024 presidential election,” Swift wrote in an Instagram post at the time.
“I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos,” she added.
In 2020, Swift said Trump is “WELL AWARE we do not want him as our president” in another social media post.
Trump has fired back at her on separate occasions, alleging her career was not as successful following online criticism of his leadership.
The president previously said, “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!” in a social media post.
In 2025, he wrote, “Has anyone noticed that, since I said ‘I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT,’ she’s no longer ‘HOT?'”
Swift, who is 36 years old, holds the record for the highest-grossing concert tour following her “Eras Tour” from 2023 to 2024.
In 2019, she was crowned Artist of the Decade at the American Music Awards and remains one of the youngest female honorees to ever be inducted into the Recording Academy’s Songwriters Hall of Fame.
Publicists for Swift and the White House did not immediately respond to The Hill’s request for comment regarding the removal of her songs from content tied to the president.
