This is not the publicity The Mandalorian & Grogu was looking for.

The White House posted an image (below) for May the Fourth, aka Star Wars Day, of Trump as The Mandalorian alongside Baby Yoda/Grogu and an American flag.

The image was accompanied by the declaration, “In a galaxy that demands strength — America stands ready. This is the way. May the 4th be with you.”

The post comes as Disney ramps up its publicity campaign for the first Star Wars movie in seven years, The Mandalorian & Grogu, which opens in theaters on May 22.

The top-voted comments on the post were AI images that turned Trump into the obese mobster Jabba the Hutt. Another top comment swapped out Baby Yoda in the post for Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Lucasfilm had no comment on the image.

Earlier Monday, Nielsen released a study of Star Wars streaming ratings on Disney+ which had some surprising results — including the sequel trilogy not being as popular at the original and prequel trilogy, among other findings.

Early tracking shows The Mandalorian & Grogu headed towards an $80 million opening weekend, which is either the lowest ever for a Disney-produced Star Wars movie, or the terrific number for a movie based on a TV show — depending on your point of view (as Obi-Wan might say).

The Mandalorian & Grogu is based on Disney+’s hit The Mandalorian TV show and returns Pedro Pascal as the helmeted bounty hunter Din Djarin. The film also stars Jeremy Allen White and Sigourney Weaver.
