As any diehard Broadway fan knows, the most storied party of Tonys night doesn’t occur until 1 a.m at The Carlyle Hotel. But this year, the biggest stars of the night began the party early — in a tucked-away speakeasy on the second mezzanine of Radio City.
Starting at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday afternoon, VIP guests — including Usher, Sarah Paulson, Cole Escola, and Queen Latifah — headed upstairs to sip on signature whisky cocktails at the Baccarat x Dewar’s Scotch Whisky Speakeasy. As Whitney Leavitt, who made her Broadway debut in “Chicago” this year, said on the carpet: “Broadway likes to party!”
