The Senate Homeland Security Committee is set to vote Thursday morning on a resolution to hold former White House chief medical adviser Anthony Fauci in contempt following a hearing last week when the doctor pleaded the Fifth more than 100 times.

Fauci received a sweeping pardon from former President Biden during his last days in office. Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), who chairs the committee, and other senators have questioned the viability of the doctor invoking his Fifth Amendment right after receiving clemency.

Last week’s contentious hearing, centered on the COVID-19 pandemic, came after Paul released over 1,000 pages of Fauci’s personal diaries.

Thursday morning’s vote is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. EDT.
