Warrington Wolves moved to the top of Super League with a dominant win against Leigh Leopards.

Matty Ashton's double was backed up tries from Josh Smith, James Bentley, Joe Philbin, George Williams and Sam Powell.

Marc Sneyd was the star of the show with the boot, missing just one kick all afternoon.

Adam Cook scored a consolation on a tough afternoon for the Leopards.

The victory means Warrington move top of the table on points difference, with Wire, Leeds Rhinos, Wigan Warriors and St Helens all on 10 points.

It took less than two minutes for Smith to give Warrington the lead. Sneyd's cross-field kick was caught by Ben Currie in a crowd, he fed Smith who crossed and the half-back added the extras.

Ashton strolled over for a second try 10 minutes later when he intercepted a loose pass and was left with half the pitch to run into unchallenged.

Referee Marcus Griffiths then denied Toby King a try because of a knock on, but moments later, Bentley crashed over for the Wire's third.

More Wolves pressure paid off with the fourth try after 35 minutes as Sneyd unlocked the door with a grubber kick, which Philbin collected to cross under the posts.

Williams then crossed to take the hosts over the 30-point mark as his quick change of direction unlocked the door, before Ashton grabbed his second try of the afternoon in the corner after a clever pass by Josh Thewlis.

Cook finally got Leigh on the board after 63 minutes, ending Warrington's hopes of a shut-out. He touched down after a 40-20 kick by Gareth O'Brien, and then converted.

Powell rounded off the win with a try from the bench. Sneyd was on hand to convert and Ashton crossed for what he thought was a second successive hat-trick, but was adjudged to be offside.
