Venezuelans around the world are celebrating a historic baseball victory after Venezuela captured its first-ever World Baseball Classic title.

The team defeated the United States 3–2, with Eugenio Suárez breaking the tie in the top of the ninth inning.

The win comes at a time of political turmoil for the country following the US government's seizure of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro during a military raid in January.
