'Tyler Perry’s Beauty in Black' Quantrell Colbert/Netflix Logo text Surprise! Netflix has renewed Tyler Perry’s Beauty in Black for a fourth season ahead of its season 3 debut later this year. Back in December, when the streamer revealed the season 3 renewal news for the popular drama, it was believed that the third season would be the final chapter in the Bellarie family saga.
“Beauty in Black is back for Season 4 and the Bellarie family’s story is far from finished,” said series creator, producer, writer and director Tyler Perry in an interview with Netflix’s Tudum. “There was so much more I wanted to explore and I’m grateful I get to keep telling this story. To the audience that has been on this ride with us from day one, thank you for watching and sharing it with the world. More episodes are on the way!”

The renewal shouldn’t be all that surprising, at least on Netflix’s part, given the success of Beauty in Black. According to the streamer, season 1 of the show spent seven weeks in Netflix’s Global Top 10 and reached #1 in 28 countries. Season 2 spent six weeks in the Global Top 10 and reached #1 in 17 countries.
Bucking the trend of other streaming dramas that have taken years between seasons but in keeping with Perry’s legendary output, Beauty in Black has churned out the episodes since it debuted in October 2024. Season 2 launched in two parts, with the second part premiering in March 2026. In all there have been 32 episodes of the show, so far.
More information on the fourth season will be released at a later date. Alas there’s no update on when season 3 will drop, but given the renewal news it can’t be long till we get to see Kimmie and Mallory on our screens again.
The logline for season 3 reads: “Kimmie finally has a seat at the Bellarie table, but when a deadly family feud erupts, she’s forced into an uneasy alliance with Mallory. Together, they navigate a ruthless world of blackmail, revenge, and buried secrets as the family wages war against one of its own, threatening to bring the entire empire crashing down.”
The main cast for the next season includes Taylor Polidore Williams, Crystle Stewart, Amber Reign Smith, Xavier Smalls, Ricco Ross, Julian Horton, Steven G. Norfleet, Richard Lawson, Terrell Carter, Bryan Tanaka, Charles Malik Whitfield and Debbi Morgan.
