Multitude MediaThe Two Doors down cast will reunite for three live showsScottish sitcom Two Doors Down will return for another series, the BBC has confirmed.
The last full season aired in November 2023 - just months after the death of the show's co-writer Simon Carlyle, aged just 48.
Cast members believed the show to be over, before Carlyle's long-time collaborator Gregor Sharp developed a one-off Christmas special in December.
The dates when the show will be broadcast have not yet been announced, but the next season will pick up where the Christmas episode left off.
Sharp said: "It was a lot of fun putting the band back together for the Christmas episode last year, so I'm really excited to be coming back with some new tunes, which we hope will turn out just as special.
"The cast are the most talented group of performers you could wish for, and I can't wait to get started."
BBC Studios Scotland / Graeme HunterBeth (Arabella Weir), and Eric (Alex Norton) are trying to get their Christmas started in the new episode of Two Doors DownA slow-burn hit set in suburban Glasgow, Two Doors Down started as a one-off special in 2013 before the first series was commissioned in 2016.
It revolves around married couple Beth and Eric - played by Arabella Weir and Alex Norton - and their intrusive family members and neighbours.
The storytelling often focuses on small, trivial incidents - in one episode the only significant event is that Alan, played by Graham "Grado" Stevely, has some spare doughnuts.
Season eight will see Beth and Eric cling to their hopes of a quiet life despite the relentless chaos from neighbours Colin, Cathy and Christine - played by Jonathan Watson, Doon Mackichan and Elaine C Smith.
BBC Scotland's head of commissioning Louise Thornton said it was "fantastic" to see the return of the characters which were "loved by audiences up and down the country".
Jon Petrie, BBC director of comedy, added: "We're really proud to bring it back for another series."
There will also be a run of Two Doors Down live shows at Glasgow's Hydro in September.
