President Trump late Friday threatened to “decimate and destroy” Iran if it carries out a reported assassination plot against him, saying he has already directed the U.S. military to be prepared to respond.

“1000 Missiles are Locked and Loaded and aimed at the Islamic Republic of Iran, with thousands of more to immediately follow, should the Iranian Government act on its threat, pronounced in many corners of the Globe, to assassinate, or attempt to assassinate, the sitting President of the United States of America, in this case, ME!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

“Orders have already been given, and the U.S. Military is ready, willing, and able, for a one year period of time, subject to extension, to completely decimate and destroy all areas of Iran – PRAISE BE TO ALLAH!” he added.

Trump’s latest warning comes a day after The Wall Street Journal reported that Israeli intelligence recently shared new information with U.S. officials showing that Tehran was considering a plan to kill the president.

Iran’s new Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, the son of the slain Ayatollah Ali Khamenei who was killed in the initial strikes on Iran in late February, on Saturday vowed to avenge his father and made another threat against Trump, according to a Telegram post reviewed by Reuters.

He reportedly said that getting revenge for his father’s death was “the demand of the nation” and “must certainly” take place.

““We pledge to avenge the blood of the martyred leader and all the martyrs of these two wars from the criminal and disgraced killers,” he wrote in his message.

Calls for revenge on Trump were also evident at the funeral procession for the late Supreme Leader, where crowds displayed banners reading, “WE WILL KILL TRUMP.”

At the NATO Summit in Ankara, Turkey earlier this week, Trump told reporters that he was Iran’s “No. 1 target” after saying the interim ceasefire agreement between Washington and Tehran was “over” following an exchange of overnight retaliatory strikes.

On Friday, the president told The New York Post that he “left instructions” for the U.S. military to launch an overwhelming response if anything were to happen to him.

“I’ve been on their list for a long time. That’s what we’re dealing with,” he said. “The only thing is, I’ve left instructions — if anything happens, to just literally bomb them at levels that they’ve never seen before.”

When asked about the reports of the Israeli intelligence, Trump told the Post that there was no new plan from Iran, but said Tehran has wanted to kill him for years.

“No, no. Israel came up with nothing. No, no,” he said. “I’ve been No. 1 [on Iran’s kill list] for a long time, and it’s the way life is, you know.”

Concerns first mounted on the heels of a security decision to have Trump depart the NATO summit earlier this week on the old Air Force One instead of the newly refurbished Qatari-gifted jet.

That move followed days of tit-for-tat strikes and the revocation of Iran’s oil sanctions waiver after attacks on vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, as the president declared the temporary ceasefire “over.”
