President Trump lashed out at Michigan Democratic Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed during a campaign-style event in Las Vegas on Wednesday.
“The polls were wrong again last night when they said it would be a landslide victory for a hater of Jews and a hater of Israel,” Trump said at an event aimed at touting the “no tax on tips” provision of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.
“This guy hates Jews,” he continued. “Somebody said, ‘Oh that’s a little strong.’ No, he hates Jews and hates Israel.”
“Abdul El-Sayed, can you believe this?” he exclaimed. “He’s a man of hate, and now he’s going around saying, ‘Oh I love everybody.’ He doesn’t love everybody. Put him in office, and you’re going to find out what he loves.”
Trump went on to say El-Sayed hates Jewish people and Israel “with a burning passion in his heart.”
“There’s not a frickin’ thing he can do about it,” he continued.
Trump then blasted progressive policies as socialist and communist and took the opportunity to hit El-Sayed again.
“When I watch Abdul, he’s full of s‑‑‑,” Trump said.
The president’s remarks come hours after El-Sayed narrowly defeated Rep. Haley Stevens (D-Mich.) in the Democratic Senate primary.
Trump swiped at El-Sayed in a Truth Social post earlier Wednesday, calling his primary win “a victory for Republicans.”
El-Sayed will face former Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Mich.) in November.
El-Sayed’s critics have long accused him of antisemitism. He has pushed back against the accusations, noting he is critical of the policies of the Israeli government.
The Democrat said he was committed to Jewish safety during an interview Wednesday on MS NOW.
“My commitment to Jewish safety is the same as my commitment to the safety of my own kids,” El-Sayed said. “We have a responsibility to take on antisemitism in all of its forms, wherever we see it. It’s the same responsibility we have to take on Islamophobia.”
