When he’s not wrangling snakes by day (and trying not to die in the process — more on that later) and becoming everyone’s favorite reality star by night, Rob Rausch is finding time to dive into fashion. The Traitors Season Four winner is teaming up with Crown Royal and Realtree for an all-new camo-covered clothing collection dropping on April 2.

The reality-TV standout, who also appeared on seasons five and six of Love Island, has joined forces with the liquor brand and the outdoor lifestyle company, respectively, to release a line of ultra-cool bags, tees, hoodies, caps, and coolers. Crown Royal notes that this is the first collaboration of its kind.

Born and raised in Alabama, Rausch is known for his chill vibe, charm, and good looks — if you watched the latest season of The Traitors (or have scrolled on social media), you know exactly what we mean. A self-proclaimed fan of “getting some sun and hanging out with my buddies,” Rausch was an obvious choice for this drop. He epitomizes the spirit of a good, old-fashioned country kickback.

We sat down with Rausch to talk about the collection, his time on reality TV, and how he survived a close encounter with a venomous snake… barely. Read the full interview below.

What drew you to this partnership with Crown Royal? When we’re having a kickback over at the farm, Crown Royal lemonade is bound to make its way to my lips, so it just made sense. And then on top of that, with the Realtree collab, I mean, I wear camo all the time. The clothes just fit right in my closet.

The Crown Royal x Realtree Kickback Experience was an event aimed to celebrate this partnership. What went down there? It was really fun. They had a pool table there, so we went and played, and we went fishing — caught me like three bass. And of course, we were drinking some Crown Royal. I ate good food, hung out with cool people, and even played “Mafia.” I was Alan [Cumming] or the “Game Master” if you will.

What was your drink order that night? They were making a bunch of really fancy drinks. I had a classic Crown lemonade.

The co-branded merch leans heavily into that outdoors aesthetic. Are you actually that guy off-camera? What’s your craziest snake-wrangling story? Alright, I’ll give you one. I was in Costa Rica with two of my best friends from college, and I found a False Coral Tree Snake, which is not considered a highly venomous snake, but it is a venomous snake. I got bit by it and immediately my hand was swelling, and I was not feeling good at all. But I tried not to let it show — I really didn’t want to worry them, so I was just trying to be chill about it.

We got back to the house, and my friend Luke was fairly concerned that I was going to die. I didn’t tell anybody, but I made a video saying goodbye to my family. I’m telling you, it was bad. I was freezing cold — and it was like 80 degrees in my room. I had cold sweats. I put on all the clothes I had and was sweating bullets, but I was ice cold. I was like, “Yeah, this isn’t good.”

But I was also really, really, really fatigued and tired. I was like, “I’m just going to go to sleep, if I wake up, I wake up.” But I was fine. I woke up the next day.

Let’s talk The Traitors — what was your biggest tell that someone was lying to you on the show? Well, I mean, Natalie [Anderson] for example, had a really hard time holding eye contact when she was lying. And that’s a pretty obvious tell. Also, she was crossing her arms, which is never a good sign for confidence.

Were there any moments from The Traitors that you felt a little guilty about? I definitely did my very best to compartmentalize. However, you know, things slip through the cracks. I did feel bad at times, but overall, I just reminded myself I was there to play the game, and I played it right.

Where do you draw the line between who Rob is and who “Rob” is on camera? There’s not a line. I think that’s why I’ve done well in reality TV, is because I’m the same guy no matter what.

After the intensity of The Traitors, what’s your ideal way to relax? There’s nothing like getting some sun, cooling down at night, and hanging out with some buddies playing poker. When it really comes down to it, being around friends and family that you’ve had for a long time, that really have your best interests at heart. There’s nothing more relaxing than being surrounded by them.

How do you decide what parts of your life stay private? I mean, I’m really private. I don’t personally put out a whole lot about myself. I’m not really the most forthcoming when it comes to information about my personal life.

We’ve heard you’re a big fan of indie music. What are you listening to right now? I feel like a lot of indie artists convey emotion, ideas, and thoughts through music in a way that I really enjoy. I love country, too, but country is a lot more literal. I like using my brain when I listen to music.

I’ve also been listening to a whole lot of Venus & the Flytraps and Brazilian funk music. It’s been hitting for me.

What can fans expect next from you? I think fans shouldn’t expect anything, you never know. If you guys start expecting stuff, we might get in trouble. The main thing is I want to just be happy. So I’m just going to keep trusting my gut and making sure I’m making the right decisions to do that, first and foremost.
