Toulouse won the battle of Super League's bottom two by beating Huddersfield Giants to claim their fourth victory of the season.

The French side were worthy winners at the Flair Stadium, Dewsbury, outscoring their hosts by six tries to three.

After Henry O'Kane's early try had been answered by the Giants' Joe Greenwood, Toulouse took control with further scores from Paul Ulberg, Mathieu Jussaume and Ethan Quai-Ward to lead 24-4.

George Flanagan cut the deficit just before half-time, only for Jussaume to respond for the visitors early in the second half with his second try.

Jacob Gagai went over for Huddersfield when Toulouse's Anthony Marion was in the sin-bin.

But O'Kane made victory safe for Toulouse when he crashed over late on.

Victory for Toulouse - their first over Huddersfield in Super League - lifted them above York to go 12th in the table, four points above the rock-bottom Giants, who have now lost 11 of their 13 games this season.

The visitors got off to the perfect start when O'Kane won the race to latch on to Cesar Rouge's grubber kick, and Jake Shorrocks kicked the first of his six successful conversions.

Greenwood soon replied with a near carbon copy when he pounced on Tui Lolohea's kick, but Toulouse stretched their lead when Ulberg cut inside two defenders to score.

Jussaume then went through a gap to score the visitors' third try, before Quai-Ward raced on to Shorrocks' perfectly weighted grubber kick.

Flanagan gave Huddersfield hope with a fine solo score, only for Jussaume to dot down another Shorrocks kick for the first points of the second half.

With Toulouse down to 12 men, Gagai powered past the tackle of Quai-Ward to score in the corner, before O'Kane went over for his second of the game.
