The Pittsburgh Steelers and New Orleans Saints are taking Paris, as the NFL continues its international push. It marks the first time the NFL has hosted a game in the City of Lights, although the timing certainly could have been better, as Paris has been gripped by weeks of protests.

The two teams face off tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. ET in the Stade de France; the over-80,000-seater is the largest stadium in the country. The Saints being the first of two teams to play in Paris is certainly no accident, given the major French influence on New Orleans, down to the Saints’ fleur-de-lis logo.

Pittsburgh and New Orleans had considerably different travel itineraries. The Steelers arrived on Friday for the Sunday game, while the Saints touched down on Monday to get more time to adjust to the time zone difference.

Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers expressed frustration with the short turnaround and said in a press conference, “I played in three countries now, and each of them we’ve left on Thursday early evening. [It] would have been nice one time to come over on a Monday.”

The Steelers are nonetheless the favorites heading into the game. They have a 4-2 record this season and are coming off a two-game win streak while the Saints have a 2-4 record.
