Melinda Sue Gordon Couldn’t make the cross-country journey to catch “The Odyssey” in Imax 70mm last summer? Luckily, you’ll have another chance. Universal, starting Dec. 11, is re-releasing Christopher Nolan‘s epic on more than 1,000 screens in the U.S. and Canada in all formats, including Imax and the coveted Imax 70mm.
Released on July 17, “The Odyssey,” despite being a three-hour, adult-oriented historical drama, grossed $626 million domestically and $1.8 billion worldwide, becoming Universal’s and Nolan’s highest-grossing film ever. It was the second-highest-grossing film of 2026, behind “Spider-Man: Brand New Day.”
