Hilary Duff released the song "CATastrophe" for 'The Cat in the Hat' soundtrack. MICHAEL DRUMMOND* Hilary Duff has released a song for The Cat in the Hat soundtrack, fittingly titled “CATastrophe.”
Co-written with Duff’s husband and collaborator Matthew Koma, as well as Madison Love and Brian Phillips, the track is a hypnotic pop gem with clever, feline-friendly lines: “Hey, I got nine lives,” she sings. “Let’s live one up tonight.” In the video, she unpacks several boxes, and dives into a psychedelic Dr. Seuss-like world.
On her Instagram story, Duff shared a video of her in the studio recording the track, explaining that she’s a “lifelong” Cat in the Hat fan. In a separate statement, she added that Dr. Seuss “was on repeat” in her house for years. “So when this came around, I didn’t have to think about it,” she said.
