Taylor Swift Michael Buckner/Billboard/Getty Images Taylor Swift is the top nominee for the 2026 American Music Awards, CBS and Dick Clark Productions revealed Tuesday, with the world’s biggest superstar earning eight nominations for the upcoming ceremony.
Swift is already the most-awarded artist in AMA history with 40 wins, and she’s up for many of the top categories this year, including artist of the year, album of the year with The Life of a Showgirl and song of the year for The Fate of Ophelia.
Outside of Swift, Morgan Wallen, Sabrina Carpenter, Olivia Dean and Sombr are in a four-way tie for second place, all earning seven nominations.

Carpenter is up for artist, album and song of the year with Man’s Best Friend and its lead single “Manchild,” while Wallen is vying in the same categories for I’m The Problem. Dean and Sombr are vying for new artist of the year. Dean also earned an album of the year nomination with breakout project The Art of Loving, and a song of the year consideration for “Man I Need.” Sombr’s “back to friends” is also up for song of the year.
Dean and Sombr are first-time nominees, along with Alex Warren, BigXthaPlug, KATSEYE, Leon Thomas, PinkPantheress, RAYE, Role Model, SIENNA SPIRO and Tate McRae. EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami, the singing voices behind the KPop Demon Hunters‘ Huntr/X, are continuing their “Golden” awards season as they’re up for song of the year, best vocal performance and best pop song.
The American Music Awards will take place on May 25th at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas at 5 p.m., with Queen Latifah set to host. The winners are determined wholly by fan voting, and voting is open now.
The American Music Awards were created by Dick Clark Productions. DCP is owned by Penske Media Corporation, The Hollywood Reporter’s parent company, in a subsidiary joint venture between Penske Media and Eldridge.
