The midpoint of October brought with it a distinct turn toward Halloween and horror titles in Nielsen’s streaming ratings.

The previous week’s No. 1, Prime Video’s Carrie series, fell one spot but still took in more than billion viewing minutes. It was replaced at the top by another show with some horror/thriller elements, Netflix’s Below. Peacock’s Friday the 13th prequel series Crystal Lake debuted in the top five. Along with all that, Halloween movies Hocus Pocus and The Nightmare Before Christmas also made their annual return to the charts.

Below logged 1.3 billion minutes of watch time in its second week, up a little from 1.19 billion minutes a week earlier. Carrie fell off by about 15 percent but still posted a strong 1.08 billion minutes.

The Diplomat was the week’s biggest debut, scoring 983 million viewing minutes with the premiere of its fourth season. Crystal Lake followed on the original series chart with 774 million minutes (both shows premiered Oct. 15).

A new season of Love Is Blind brought the Netflix series back into the rankings with 600 million minutes of viewing, tied with East of Eden. Apple TV’s Ted Lasso (546 million) stayed in the top 10 originals a week after its season finale.

Ben Affleck’s Animals (756 million minutes) stayed on top of the movie chart for a second week. Hocus Pocus (209 million) and The Nightmare Before Christmas (173 million), both on Disney+, ranked fifth and seventh among films.

Nielsen’s streaming ratings cover viewing on TV sets only and don’t include minutes watched on computers or mobile devices. The ratings only measure U.S. audiences. The top streaming titles for Oct. 12-18, 2026, are below.
