Prime Video is heading back to Muskoka for a second season.

The streamer has ordered a second season of Sterling Point, the coming-of-age series created by Megan Park. The renewal comes two weeks after the first season premiered on the platform.

“It’s been an absolute joy to see the appreciation and love for the show,” Park said in a release. “We worked so hard to make the show as authentic as possible and to see audiences respond to that has been thrilling. We cannot wait to dive deeper into these characters and deliver the best second season ever.”

The show has earned praise from critics and viewers online for its realistic dialogue when it comes to its teen characters.

In the series, 17-year-old Annie, played by Ella Rubin, inherits her late grandfather’s Canadian cottage and island along with her twin brother, played by Keen Ruffalo. There, Annie meets Amélie Hoeferle’s character in her grandfather’s house, and as Rubin’s Annie tells her brother, “someone that looks like mom” is saying the house belonged to her grandfather.

“Raised in New York City with her twin brother and loving adoptive father (Jay Duplass), Annie’s life takes a turn when she inherits her mysterious grandfather’s island in Canada,” the show’s synopsis reads. “There, she finds new friends, budding romances and untold family secrets.”

Jacob Whiteduck-Lavoie (Billie Blue), Daniel Quinn-Toye (Sunny Dancer), Bo Bragason (Renegade Nell, The Radleys), Jeffrey Dean Morgan (The Walking Dead), Nikko Angelo Hinayo (Davey & Jonesie’s Locker), Mabel Strachan (The Ridge), Elle-Maija Tailfeathers (Three Pines) and Missi Pyle (Harlan Coben’s Shelter) also star in the eight-episode season.

Sterling Point has captivated millions of viewers around the world, and it’s easy to see why,” said Peter Friedlander, head of global television at Amazon MGM Studios. “Megan, Josh [Schwartz] and Stephanie [Savage], alongside our wonderful partners at Fake Empire and LuckyChap, crafted something truly special, anchored by strong performances from the phenomenal ensemble cast.”

Park serves as creator, director, co-showrunner and executive producer on the series. Teen drama veterans Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage serve as co-showrunners and executive produce under their Fake Empire banner, while Dani Gorin and Tom Ackerley executive produce for LuckyChap. The show comes from Amazon MGM Studios, Fake Empire and LuckyChap.
