L.A. mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt is seen speaking with the media outside Don Antonio's restaurant on June 2, 2026. HIGHFIVE/Bauer-Griffin/GC Images Spencer Pratt has broken his silence after unsuccessfully losing his bid to advance in the Los Angeles mayoral race.
While he had been in second place to incumbent Karen Bass in the days after the June 2 election, his progressive rival, City Council member Nithya Raman, took the lead after more and more ballots were counted. (California allows for mail-in ballots to be submitted up until election day.) Late Monday afternoon, with just 8 percent, or 65,0000, of ballots outstanding, the Associated Press called the race for Raman, who’ll face off against Bass come Nov. 3.

According to NBC News, Bass currently leads with 291,397 votes, or 34.3 percent; Raman has 246,333, or 29 percent; and Pratt has 216,783, or 25.5 percent.
Pratt was spurred to run for mayor, in part, after he saw his home destroyed last year in the Palisades fire and was unhappy with Bass’ response.
On Tuesday, Jimmy Kimmel made a jab at Pratt on Jimmy Kimmel Live!: “You know, he clearly promised that if Karen Bass or Nithya Raman were elected mayor, he’s going to move out of L.A. He said he was done with L.A. And Spencer, if you’re watching, we are so so sorry to see you go. You’re a man of your word and you’ve got to go. You said you were going to go, and I know things might be tight right now, especially [now that] out-of-state donation money is running out. Moving is expensive. So, to help you out, we rented you a U-Haul.”
Pratt responded on Instagram, sharing a video of his destroyed home: “Jimmy Kimmel I guess you missed the part of the story i don’t need a U-Haul…I have nothing left to pack 🤷♂️.”
Among those backing Pratt in his bid for mayor were President Donald Trump, Joe Rogan, Dennis Quaid and Paris Hilton.
