(Photo by Ethan Miller/Getty Images) The American Music Awards may have been taking place in Las Vegas, but Sombr paid inadvertent tribute on Monday night to his hometown of New York City — which was drenched with rain for most of Memorial Day weekend — by performing a high-powered version of his hit “Homewrecker” that climaxed with a full-on onstage downpour.
The singer, clad in leather bell-bottoms and a loose black button-down shirt (different from the outfit he wore to accept his Best Alternative/Rock Song award for “Back to Friends” just a few minutes earlier), lit up the AMAs stage with his high-powered performance of the song, which he also performed at the BRIT Awards earlier in the year. The song, released back in February and likely to be included on his sophomore album expected later in the year, is also nominated for the Song of the Summer AMA Awards.
