The cantankerous Jackson Lamb is back in a first look at season six of Slow Horses.

Apple TV revealed the first images from the next installment, premiering weekly on Thursdays starting Sept. 16. They show Oscar-winning star Gary Oldman as Lamb, head of MI5’s dumping ground department Slough House, with Jack Lowden returning in his role as River Cartwright.

Also featured in the photos released this week are Kristin Scott Thomas, Tom Brooke, Aimee-Ffion Edwards, Lenny Rush and Christopher Chung. The ensemble cast also includes Rosalind Eleazar, Joanna Scanlan, Samuel West, Jonathan Pryce and Hugo Weaving.

The only plot synopsis provided for the upcoming season so far simply reads: “The Slow Horses are on the run as Diana Taverner (played by Scott Thomas) embroils them all in a fatally high-stakes game of retaliation and revenge.”

The series, produced for Apple TV by See-Saw Films and adapted from Mick Herron’s novel of the same name, has won an impressive six BAFTA TV Awards since its 2022 debut, as well as two Emmys. It is one of the streamer’s most successful shows to date.

Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta, Julian Stevens, Iain Canning, Emile Sherman, Adam Randall, Gail Mutrux, Douglas Urbanski and Oldman serve as executive producers on Slow Horses. Season six is adapted for television by co-executive producer Gaby Chiappe, with Adam Randall returning to direct.
