Skydance Alum Amanda Alley Lands at A/Vantage Pictures as Development, Production VP (Exclusive)

Skydance Alum Amanda Alley Lands at A/Vantage Pictures as Development, Production VP (Exclusive)

Amanda Alley, who spent eight years at Skydance and did a stint at Paramount after last year’s merger, has taken on a new role at Highest 2 Lowest producer A/Vantage Pictures. Alley is now vice president, development and production.

The exec most recently served as a production and development exec overseeing They Will Kill You at Skydance, the first feature for Andy and Barbara Muschietti’s Nocturna genre label. She also worked on upcoming Skydance features such as Chris Pratt starrer Way of the Warrior Kid and Mattel’s Matchbox movie, as well as Paramount Pictures’ The Traveler.

Her previous credits Heart of StoneSpy Kids: ArmageddonGhosted, and The Greatest Beer Run Ever.

She started at Skydance under Don Granger on features Terminator: Dark Fate, Mission: Impossible Fallout, and Top Gun: Maverick.

“We had the opportunity to get to know Amanda during her time at Skydance, and we were always very impressed by her taste, point of view on material, and her responsiveness and thoughtfulness,” said A/Vantage founder and president Jason Michael Berman. “We are thrilled that she is joining our team at A/Vantage Pictures during this exciting time, and can’t wait to build some amazing movies together.”

Added Alley: “I’ve admired Jason’s great taste in material for years. I think when you find someone whose vision aligns with yours time and time again, that’s a sign you can’t ignore. Stepping into this next chapter to build out a slate together alongside a team that truly champions great stories and filmmakers is incredibly exciting.”

A/Vantage came on the scene with Spike Lee’s Highest 2 Lowest, released last year. The company also has filmmaker Sheldon Candis’ inspirational sports drama They Fight bowing at Tribeca June 8 and hitting Disney+ and Hulu in July, with the boxing feature starring Andre Holland and Wendell Pierce.

The company is currently in post on filmmaker Ben Younger’s dramatic aviation thriller Left Seat, starring Michelle Rodriguez and Richard Gere, as well as Vegas: A Love Story, from White Tiger filmmaker Ramin Bahrani and starring Maika Monroe, Brandon Sklenar, Paul Dano, Michael Shannon and Judy Greer.
