AC/DC brought out Dave Grohl to join them on “Highway to Hell” during the band’s concert Friday at East Rutherford, New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium, the final show of their Power Up Tour, and possibly longer.

The MetLife gig was originally scheduled for September 25, but a nor’easter along the East Coast pushed the date to Friday, making it the last date of AC/DC’s two-year-long Power Up tour. When the show was rescheduled, it was also announced that Foo Fighters would be the gig’s surprise opening act.

With Dave Grohl already in the building, it was only natural that the singer who cameo with AC/DC to play “Highway to Hell,” fulfilling a “childhood dream” of his.

“Hey everybody, we got something to tell you. You better listen up close now. A very good friend of ours asked us today if he could come up and join us for ‘Highway for Hell.’ And we said, ‘Yes Dave, you can,'” AC/DC’s Brian Johnson told the crowd. “David Grohl. Music’s brilliant, isn’t it?”

During Foo Fighters’ opening set, Grohl talked about how much AC/DC means to him and why he jumped at another opportunity to open for the band; Foo Fighters also opened for AC/DC in St. Louis on September 8, filling in for the tour’s usual opener, the Pretty Reckless.

“When I was 11 years old and I went to a midnight movie, and I saw the Let There Be Rock movie in the fucking movie theater, at 11 years old, I didn’t know that rock n’ roll could be like that. I didn’t know that rock n’ roll was sweat and blood and fucking tears and every ounce of energy you had,” Grohl told the MetLife audience.
