Scottish rugby great Hastings dies aged 61

Scottish rugby great Scott Hastings has died at the age of 61.

The British and Irish Lions centre won 65 caps in an 11-year Test career that began in 1986 and was part of the most recent Scotland team to win the Grand Slam in 1990.

A statement released by his son Corey and daughter Kerry-Anne revealed he died due to complications arising from cancer treatment.

Hastings, younger brother of fellow Scotland international and British & Irish Lion Gavin, announced in 2022 he had been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.
