Netflix has ordered new seasons of its comedy series Running Point and YA drama My Life With the Walter Boys, the streamer announced Wednesday at its upfront presentation.

Running Point is headed into its third season on Netflix, while My Life With the Walter Boys got an early renewal for season four. The drama’s third season is set to premiere later this year, with season four set for 2027. Netflix also picked up Dan Levy’s Big Mistakes for a second season and has renewed dating show Love Is Blind for season 11 and NFL docuseries Quarterback for season three.

Running Point will continue to film in Los Angeles as it tells the story — loosely based on Jeanie Buss’ time running the Lakers — of a woman (Kate Hudson) taking the reins of a professional men’s basketball team. The renewal comes about three weeks after season two premiered in April; it has ranked in Netflix’s top 10 English-language series worldwide for the past three weeks.

Mindy Kaling, David Stassen and Ike Barinholtz are writers and executive producers on Running Point, with Stassen serving as showrunner. Hudson, Howard Klein, Buss and Linda Rambis also executive produce. Warner Bros. TV, where Kaling has an overall deal, is the studio.

My Life With the Walter Boys comes from Sony Pictures Television, International Production and iGeneration Studios. The show’s second season spent five weeks in the streamer’s global top 10.

“I know I speak for the writers, the cast and the crew when I say that it is beyond exciting to be returning to the world of Silver Falls for a fourth season,” said showrunner Melanie Halsall. “Our characters continue to grow and evolve, and we have so many delicious, romantic, sexy and messy stories to tell — I can’t wait to share them with our amazing audience, who have shown so much love for this show. We are all incredibly grateful and are thrilled to dive in.”

Halsall executive produces My Life With the Walter Boys with Ed Glauser and Becky Hartman Edwards.
