The Supreme Court on Tuesday struck down President Trump’s birthright citizenship restrictions, ruling that his banner immigration policy is unconstitutional.
The majority ruling, written by Chief Justice John Roberts, was joined by three liberal justices and conservative Justice Amy Coney Barrett.
Justice Clarence Thomas, one of the court’s conservatives, wrote a dissent against the ruling that marked one of the most stinging blows against Trump’s second-term agenda, nullifying a key prong of the president’s immigration crackdown.
