Courtesy Filmitalia RAI Cinema International Distribution has scored sales at the Cannes market with new works by veteran Italian auteurs Mario Martone and Gianni Amelio and promising newcomer Irene Dionisio that are tipped to bow in Venice.
“Trick,” which stars Toni Servillo (“The Great Beauty”) (first look image above) is the latest feature by Martone who was in the Cannes competition last year with “Fuori.” Naples-set “Trick” has been picked up following a teaser presentation at the Cannes Marché du Film by Benelux (Paradiso Films), Brazil (Orta Film), Switzerland (Morandini), and Greece (Dream Team Film), Portugal (Leopardo Filmes), and Bulgaria (Cinelibri).
