Pixar’s ‘Cars’ Returns to Theaters for 20th Anniversary

Rev your engines because “Cars” is back in theaters to celebrate its 20th anniversary, starting Sept. 4

The race back to theaters coincides with Lightning McQueen Day on Sept. 5, honoring Owen Wilson’s lead character’s number, #95. 

The anniversary will be commemorated throughout the year with a number of themed collaborations and activations, including special screenings at the Tee-Pee Drive-In and Tulsa Circle Cinema, a life-size Lightning McQueen and “Cars” wrapped Mercedes safety car at the Formula 1 Gran Premio D’Italia at Monza in September where fans can shop the “Cars Collection for Formula 1,” plus an activation with Nascar at the Daytona 500 in February. There will also be life-size “Cars” exhibits at the Beaulieu National Motor Museum in England, the National Automobile Museum in Italy, and the Petersen Automotive Museum and National Automobile Museum in the U.S.
