Brian Harman looks to win his fifth PGA Tour event and second consecutive Valero Texas Open when he takes part in the event at TPC San Antonio - The Oaks Course. Harman is a +6000 longshot to repeat as champion. The 2026 Valero Texas Open gets underway at 8:30 a.m. ET on Thursday. The tournament, with a $9.8 million purse, will be played on a par-72 course measuring 7,438 yards.

Among the favorites include Ludvig Aberg and Tommy Fleetwood at +1500, with Russell Henley (+1600), Jordan Spieth (+1800) and Robert MacIntyre close behind. Before making any 2026 Valero Texas Open picks, you need to see the 2026 Valero Texas Open predictions and best bets from golf expert Brady Kannon

Kannon is an elite golfing betting handicapper with more than 30 years of experience in the industry. He has called eight major winners since 2013 and hit six PGA winners, including 110-1 longshot Harris English at the Farmers Insurance Open, in 2025. He also hit on Matt Fitzpatrick (15-1) at the Valspar Championship on March 22 for an outright winner. Additionally, he's 33-29-5 on head-to-head bets since joining SportsLine.

Now, Kannon has focused his attention on the 2026 Valero Texas Open field and locked in his best bets, sleepers and golfers to avoid. You can only see them here

Top 2026 Valero Texas Open expert picks

One of Kannon's 2026 Valero Texas Open predictions: He's fading Aberg, a co-favorite at 15-1, avoiding him in outright bets and head-to-head bets.

"The Big Swede is my favorite new player on the PGA Tour scene in the last few years but I don't like this spot for him here this week as the tournament favorite and his quest for a third straight top-10 finish at The Masters on deck," Kannon told SportsLine. "Aberg is very familiar with TPC San Antonio, having played it numerous times during his college days at nearby Texas Tech. However, that has not translated all that well, having missed the cut twice here in his three professional visits.

"He definitely has a skill set that translates here at this golf course and the form has been coming around nicely since he was struggling with illnesses earlier this season. With two top-5 finishes in his last two starts, he has to be feeling great heading into The Masters. I have to wonder if he even wants to be here for all four days. It is an awfully short price to pay when we are wondering what his mindset is between now and what lies ahead." See who Kannon is backing at SportsLine.
