The look came after the in-demand star turned up in the front row at Blazy’s Chanel debut, a spring fashion show in Paris (his sister Lux also walked in the show at Grand Palais).

It’s a rare move for Chanel as the house does not produce menswear though some ready-to-wear looks are unisex and have been worn in years past by fashion icons like Pharrell Williams. In announcing the news, Chanel singled out Pascal for how he “constantly defies expectations, effortlessly moving between genres and carving a path of his own,” praising his charisma, sense of humor and dedication for “bringing people together” thus making him a “natural ally” for Chanel.

Even Pascal nodded to the unisex vision in his statement. “I love Matthieu’s vision, which I find powerful, elegant, and incredibly warm: it shows me how we could exist together, there’s something for everyone in his universe. I am happy and honored to join it and I am eager to see what Matthieu has planned for the future of Chanel. The house has a remarkable ability to honor its heritage while remaining modern and relevant, and I am excited to be part of that evolving story.”
Blazy praised Pascal as “a wonderful” man and “incredible” actor. “His kindness, talent and his vision of the world are both inviting and inspiring. We are thrilled to welcome him to the Chanel family and I’m happy to embark on this adventure together.”
The news comes during a big year for Pascal, who will next be seen in Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu and Avengers: Doomsday. He is expected in Las Vegas this week during the CinemaCon presentation at Caesars Palace.
