The State Department announced Thursday it is expanding access to the new U.S. passport featuring President Trump’s likeness.

In a release, the department said it is making an additional 250,000 copies of the commemorative “Patriot Passport” available “in response to overwhelming demand” from the public.

Americans had previously only been able to receive the passports at the department’s passport office in Washington, D.C., but they now can schedule an appointment via phone at its 24 other offices across the country.

The State Department unveiled the new passport in April, ahead of the country’s 250th birthday. One page of the passport features Trump’s inaugural portrait surrounded by the text of the Declaration of Independence, while another includes a painting of the founding fathers at the signing of the document.

Passport offices in Centennial, Colo.; Chicago; Dallas; Detroit; Minneapolis; New Orleans; and Stamford, Conn., will offer the passport at application events on Aug. 8. Other passport offices will follow suit in the weeks after.

“Since its release in celebration of 250 years of American independence, the commemorative passport has generated extraordinary public interest,” the State Department noted in its Thursday release. “The Department of State is responding by expanding access so Americans across the country can obtain this unique and special document.”

Trump is the first sitting president featured on an American passport. The travel document also includes depictions of Mount Rushmore — which features rock carvings of the faces of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln and Theodore Roosevelt.

Quotes from a number of deceased presidents, including Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, Roosevelt, Dwight Eisenhower, John F. Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson, are also inscribed within U.S. passports.

The Trump administration has added the president’s name and likeness to multiple buildings, initiatives and items over the last 18-plus months. That includes the U.S. Institute for Peace and the Kennedy Center, although the administration removed Trump’s name from the latter’s building in June after a federal judge ordered it to do so.

This fall, the U.S. Mint will release a $1 gold coin featuring Trump’s portrait in honor of the country’s semiquincentennial.
