The North Road Company, Peter Chernin’s expansive content production shop, has launched a new film label focused on “distinctive filmmaker perspectives with broad audience appeal.”

Called North Road Films, the operation will be led by president Kori Adelson. The producer is already overseeing projects made and co-financed by North Road, including the buzzy upcoming A24 project “Backrooms.” The film is based on a viral conceit about a digital maze that exists outside of reality. 20-year-old Kane Parsons directs Oscar nominees Renate Reinsve and Chiwetel Ejiofor in the film.
