Emanuele Cremaschi/Getty Images Nintendo is hiking the price of its Switch 2 gaming console across territories, with plans to increase the cost to $499.99 in the U.S. beginning Sept. 1.
Since the Switch 2’s release on June 5, 2025, the gaming hardware has been priced at $449.99. Nintendo’s $50 increase comes amid the increased memory and storage costs facing the gaming and tech sector.
The price of the Switch 2 will also increase in Japan (59,980 yen vs. 49,980 yen), Canada ($679.99 vs. $629.99) and Europe (499.99 euros vs. 469.99 euros). The hike in Japan will be effective May 25, while Canada and Europe’s increases will come in the fall along with the U.S.’s rise to $499.99.
