New York Times pop culture writer and awards columnist Kyle Buchanan has left the newspaper after eight years.

I can exclusively report that Buchanan is launching a new video podcast about Hollywood, “The Kyle Buchanan Show,” in mid-October. His last day at The New York Times was Friday.

Released twice weekly, “The Kyle Buchanan Show” will feature two distinct formats. Every Tuesday is “The Panel,” with Buchanan joined by two to three rotating industry guests to break down the biggest stories in Hollywood. Every Friday is “The Profile,” a one-on-one conversation with a major star.
