Courtesy of Bryce Hall My Chemical Romance has scored its first-ever No. 1 on the Billboard 200 as “The Black Parade” surges from No. 139 to the top of the chart, 20 years after its initial release.
The group reaches the chart summit for the first time following a deluxe reissue of the album with 78,000 equivalent album units. My Chemical Romance first dropped the album on October 23, 2006, peaking at No. 2 and becoming their highest-charting album until now. With their latest achievement, the band has had the longest-ever wait for an album to return to No. 1, surpassing the near 16-year wait for Toby Keith’s “35 Biggest Hits” following his death in 2024. It also becomes the first anniversary album ever to debut at No. 1.
