Mubi has bought “Minotaur,” the anticipated next film by Andrey Zvyagintsev,  the two-time Oscar-nominated Russian filmmaker of “Loveless” and “Leviathan” for North America, UK, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Latin America.

Represented internationally by MK2 Films (“Sentimental Value”), the movie is strongly tipped for a world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival.

Penned by Zvyagintsev in collaboration with Semen Liashenko, “Minotaur” has been described as a political fable blending crime thriller and classical elements, exploring the emotional and moral collapse of a businessman under the strain of personal and political crises.
