Glastonbury Festival has confirmed that tickets for the 2027 event will go on sale later this week.

After taking a year off in 2026, thousands of festival-goers are preparing to secure a place at next year's five-day event.

Coach and ticket packages are due to go on sale at 18:00 BST on Thursday and general admission tickets a few days later at 09:00 on Sunday.

The festival has introduced an automatic queuing system on the day of the sale. But for those anxious about securing a place, we have rounded up some hardened festival-goers' advice on the biggest pitfalls to avoid.

Multiple devices

Some may think using multiple devices to secure tickets may give you better odds, however the website can mistake this for an error and kick you out of the queue at any point. It may also ban you from re-entering the site.

Having multiple tabs open might mean the website decides you're a bot and blocks you.

Don't be late - even by a few seconds

Joining the waiting room earlier than the advertised time may give you a better chance in the queue, even if it is randomised.

However, joining late will place you at the back of the queue, which lessens your chance due to the amount of people already waiting.

Money at the ready

As you have a strict time limit to secure your tickets, having your payment information written down or saved on your browser to auto-fill will make getting tickets an easier and speedier process.

You will need to enter your card information, billing address and contact information within five minutes.

Make sure that you, and those in your group, have enough funds to place a deposit on every ticket.

Have your phone at the ready to authenticate payments on banking apps and two-factor authentication through text, email and call.

Don't all try in the same home

Paul Farrugia, the writer of the 100% unofficial Glastonbury Festival Guidebook , external, has shared his tips as someone who has been to Glastonbury 10 times.

He said Glastonbury tickets are connected through See Tickets so it is a good idea to ensure the company is a trusted merchant for your banking group before the sale or your payment may not be authorised.

He also advised applying with friends in the same house as you could harm your chances as your IP address will be the same.

However, he said heading into offices together could be a bonus as the WiFi speeds tend to be faster.

Do not refresh if purchasing page crashes

SJ Smallpage, founder of 'Glastonbury Festival Fans' Facebook group and admin of 'Glasto Girls' Facebook group, has advice about what to do if you have completed the first hurdle of getting through the "green line of doom", but then your page crashes.

SJ advises not to refresh the page as this will send you to the back of the queue, lessening your chances of ever getting through again.

Instead their key advice is to "click the back button once, cool and patiently".

Hold your nerve

If you are unsuccessful with tickets in October, there is the April resale just around the corner.

The April resale allows for one registration to secure four tickets, giving you another chance of success.

But if you're not successful and still want the Glastonbury experience, SJ recommends Shindig Festival and quotes Emily Eavis, who described it as a "pint-sized Glasto."

This could also be a good choice for people wanting to go to Glastonbury for the first time or those who are anxious of the big crowds and space.
