Getty Images Netflix’s “Michael Jackson: The Verdict,” a docuseries that revisits the King of Pop’s 2005 trial, debuted at the top of the TV charts with 17.8 million views in its first five days.
The three-part series premiered on June 3 and features interviews with key people who were inside the courtroom — where Jackson was acquitted of all charges including child molestation — including jurors, eyewitnesses, accusers and defenders. It premiered a couple months after the blockbuster musical biopic “Michael,” which stars the late Jackson’s nephew Jaafar Jackson as the “Thriller” singer and is endorsed by the Jackson estate.
