Mena Suvari (American Beauty), Jean Evans (Busboys), Steph Tolev (Tires), Jake Picking (Top Gun: Maverick) and Rodney J. Hobbs (Young Dylan) are set to star in filmmaker Jenna Milly’s teen body-swap movie The Incredible Edible, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. Principal photography recently wrapped in Los Angeles for the project that hails from Paillette Pictures.
The Incredible Edible is set over the final 24 hours before high school graduation and centers on Evans as an overachieving valedictorian who discovers that a psychedelic edible has caused her to begin body-switching with those around her. Her experiences through the perspective of her classmates, teachers and mother (Suvari) lead her to question the future that she has planned for herself.

Marking her feature directorial debut, Milly helmed the indie film from her own script. Producers include Milly for Paillette Pictures and Clément Bauer for Resonate Entertainment, alongside Emily Sheehan, Andrew DeCesare and Mike Day. Susan Cartsonis and Suzanne Farwell are executive producing for Resonate Entertainment.
Jacalyn Alongi, John-Paul Howard, Casey Burke, Kenzie Yolles, Jake Somnath, Sebastian Amoruso, Landon Boyce, Lidya Jewett and Isa Mellody round out the cast.
Milly’s previous feature screenwriting credits include The Fabulous Four with Bette Midler and Susan Sarandon, You’re Dating a Narcissist with Marisa Tomei and the Mary Holland-led Golden Arm. Milly is represented by David Boxerbaum at Verve Talent & Literary Agency, Ryan Saul at Evoke Entertainment and Linda Lichter at Lichter Grossman.
“I’ve always dreamt about making a fun popcorn movie that pays homage to the quirky science fiction high school films of the 80s,” Milly says. “Our cast is amazing, and this story is absolutely wild. It was so much fun to shoot. I’m so proud of this magical film.”
Suvari returns to the teen comedy genre after starring in the hit American Pie franchise. The actress, who is also known for the Oscar-winning movie American Beauty, is set to head back to the American Horror Story for the forthcoming season 13 after her role on 2018’s American Horror Story: Apocalypse.
